This micro-needling technique firms and rejuvenates the skin by stimulating the formation of collagen. The micro-canals created by the Dermapen facilitate the penetration of active ingredients, such as 2nd generation PRP (see section) into the tissue.
The effects of the technique
- Rejuvenation of the skin: smoothing of wrinkles and pigmentation; prevention of loose skin and pore dilation.
- Acne scars: stimulated fibroblasts progressively replace the scar tissue
- Stretch-marks: notably reduced when used in combination with 2nd generation PRP
The Dermapen has a sterile single use application head containing 12 to 36 micro-needles. Depending on the selected applicator head the optimal operating depth is 0.25 to 3mm, the treatment is painless or only slightly uncomfortable, in the latter case an aesthetic cream can be applied. The treatment is a lot more comfortable the other techniques using micro-needle rolls and the operation is rapid.
Sessions are organised at an interval of 2 to 6 weeks depending on the condition. Contrary to laser or peeling treatments, there is no need to recover in private, after a treatment session only a slight reddening is visible.
The initial beneficial effects can be seen rapidly, and the structure of the skin will continue to improve over the following month.
