What are lipostructure and hyaluronic acid injections in intimate medicine?
Lipostructure
Lipostructure, also known as lipofilling, is the injection of fat into the private parts of the body. Fat cells are harvested by liposuction from the abdomen or thighs, then reinjected into the intimate area to be restructured. This is called autologous adipocyte reinjection, as the patient is both donor and recipient.
Allergenic reaction or rejection are excluded.
Injection of hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally present in the dermis. Excellent tolerance, absorbable and biodegradable, it is injected in gel form in intimate aesthetic medicine for vulvo-vaginal and pelvic areas.
Under local anaesthetic, a cannula is inserted through a micro-perforation into the sub-epidermal adipose zone. Fine needles are used to inject the desired volume.
