What is the fractional CO2 laser?

CO2 lasers had been used for years for resurfacing, but the after-effects were severe and the social eviction long.

Fractional CO2 is equipped with a scanner that sieves the laser beam, so it no longer works continuously, but in microscopic impact points separated by intervals of healthy skin. This explains its advantages over conventional CO2 :

  • there is no need for anaesthesia, just the use of a comfort anaesthetic cream
  • the short procedure is performed in the office
  • simple aftercare with no risk of depigmentation

However, several sessions are required.

Indications for fractional CO2 :

  • photorejuvenation through skin smoothing: wrinkles, fine lines, dilated pores, blurred complexion, décolleté wrinkles
  • acne scars
  • benign skin lesions: warts, cheloid scars
