What you need to know about the inner thigh lift
The thigh lift considerably improves the shape of the thigh by tightening the inner skin and suspending it from the underlying planes.
The aim of the procedure is to remove excess skin and reduce underlying fatty infiltration. It consists of an incision near the groin, extended posteriorly, and resection of the excess skin. The skin is then tightened and fixed in depth to the underlying fascial plane. Liposuction may also be performed.
Health insurance does not cover this procedure, except in a few cases of bariatric surgery (due to obesity), which are sometimes covered under special conditions.
Applications
The inner thigh lift (crural lift) is performed when the skin of the inner thigh is too distended and liposuction alone is not sufficient. This procedure involves re-tensioning this area of skin: excess skin is removed, the volume of underlying infiltrated fat is reduced, and the skin is suspended deep within the underlying fascia.
Pre-operative phase
Beforehand, a pre-operative check-up is carried out to ensure that there are no contraindications to the operation. A consultation with the anaesthetist is scheduled no later than two days before the operation. To avoid any healing problems, we recommend that you stop smoking at least one month before and one month after the operation. It is strictly forbidden to take any medication containing aspirin during the ten days prior to the operation. In general, the skin must be specifically prepared the day before and the morning of the operation.
Anesthesia
The anaesthetist and surgeon work together with the patient to select a suitable anaesthetic. Thigh lifts require either a "vigil" anesthetic (local anesthesia accompanied by intravenous tranquilizers) or a general anesthetic.
Type of hospitalization
One to three days' hospitalization is usually required.
