What is photorejuvenation?
The principle of photo rejuvenation is toimprove skin texture and radiance through exposure to light sources, such as intense pulsed light (IPL), certain lasers or soft LED-type lights. These machines, which do not come into direct contact with the skin, act directly on epidermal cells.
Sessions are quick and painless. They enable rapid recovery, without leaving any traces. Their effect is immediate, very natural, but transient. These sessions must be repeated to maintain the result.
This technique is designed for people whose skin has become thinner with age, and who have brown spots, visible vessels or dilated pores. The face, décolleté and back of hands are the areas most effectively treated by luminous photorejuvenation. These techniques only act on the epidermis, and can be combined with other more in-depth treatments.
A consultation with the doctor is necessary. He will analyze your request, your medical and family history, and examine your skin in order to establish the appropriate protocol.
Non-invasive laser technologies
They are gentle and painless, and have no side effects.
They require no downtime.
Skin rejuvenation cures involve six to ten sessions and combine the action of several lasers.
- NdYag tackles the signs of ageing and sun or tobacco damage, such as fine lines, dilated pores, brown spots, rosacea and redness. It stimulates the production of new collagen.
The results of a single session may seem minimal, but the overall results after a complete cure can be impressive.

At the first consultation, tell the practitioner:
● Any allergies
● Abnormal reactions to previous treatments
● Current drug treatments.
During the 2 weeks preceding a session:
● Apply sunscreen (with a protection factor of 40 or more).
● Avoid sun exposure and UV sessions.
Treatment should be postponed in the event of pregnancy.
Each session lasts between 15 and 40 minutes. Allow 4 to 6 sessions, spaced about 1 month apart.
The doctor sometimes spreads a conductive gel on the surface to be treated. He then applies a handpiece to the skin, delivering pulses of light. Each pulse produces a sensation of heat, sometimes tingling.
A protective cream is often applied at the end of the session.
You can return to your normal activities when you leave the clinic.
A slight erythema may appear on the treated area after the session. This will dissipate within 1 to 2 hours. The doctor will prescribe a soothing treatment. Photorejuvenation does not entail any social exclusion.
Sleep with your head slightly elevated for the first two nights, to reduce the risk of oedema.
Apply sun protection (SPF 40 or higher) to the treated area for two weeks.
The appearance of the skin improves markedly after 3 sessions.
Results are long-lasting if skin is moisturized daily and protected from the sun.
One or two annual maintenance sessions are recommended to maintain the effects of the first treatment.
