Breast augmentation by fat injection: Lipolifting

  • Type: breast augmentation by reinjection of personal fat
  • Anaesthesia: general anaesthesia
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Stay: outpatient
  • De-socialization: 3.4 days
  • Advantages: breast augmentation and treatment of localized fatty disfigurement can be combined in a single operation. No implants, no scarring and less post-operative complications than with breast prostheses.

The principle of lipofilling

Developed around ten years ago, lipofilling aims to achieve moderate, natural breast augmentation, without the need for implants and therefore without the risk of rejection.

Lipofilling is a breast surgery procedure that increases breast volume by injecting fat taken from elsewhere on the body (hips, buttocks, stomach, etc.).

Breast lipofilling is intended to provide a moderate increase in breast shape or to correct asymmetry. It is therefore not indicated if the patient is seeking a significant cup size increase (A to D, for example). In combination with liposuction of localized fat, lipofilling also helps to restructure the overall harmony of the silhouette.

Given its principle, lipofilling requires sufficient, available and harvestable fat. It is therefore not suitable for patients who are too thin.

Lipofilling: practical information

Breast lipofilling is designed to provide a moderate increase in breast shape, or to correct asymmetry. When combined with liposuction of localized fat, it can also help restructure the overall harmony of the figure.

Given its principle, lipofilling requires sufficient, available and harvestable fatty tissue.

Procedure reserved for women under 35 with no family history of breast cancer.

Please note: health insurance does not cover this procedure, the motivation being purely aesthetic. The only cases where partial reimbursement is possible, and subject to prior agreement, concern a few very specific cases of complete breast absence (breast agenesis).
