Laser treatment for tattoo-free skin
There are many reasons for wanting to remove a tattoo, and it's best to consult a specialist rather than rely on pseudo-natural methods. Because the design they chose a few years ago no longer suits their personality, the edges of the design are uneven or the color has faded, many patients wish to have a tattoo removed. If you're in this situation, Clinique du Lac offers laser tattoo removal, an aesthetic medicine technique to erase your tattoo without leaving a scar.

Our team chose PicoSure®, a laser capable of emitting a picosecond pulse. A picosecond is a unit of time equal to one thousandth of a billionth of a second. It is this speed that enables the laser to destroy the tattoo, reducing it to tiny particles that are then eliminated by the body's natural metabolism (macrophage system). The high-speed light wave targets the tattoo pigments, fragmenting them thanks to the pulse effect. Compared with previous-generation lasers, the PicoSure® laser sends out a wave a thousand times faster, making it more effective in treating even the most complex tattoos. Laser tattoo removal can also be used to remove permanent make-up.
Laser applications are not limited to tattoo removal. This high-tech equipment can be used to treat wrinkles, acne scars and pigmented lesions. Make an appointment at Clinique du Lac to learn more about laser and photorejuvenation.
How a laser tattoo removal session works
An initial consultation with a Clinique du Lac doctor enables us to examine your tattoo, its location, depth and the pigments used. The doctor can then define a personalized protocol with settings adapted to your tattoo. He or she will explain how a session works, answer any questions you may have, and give you a personalized quote based on the characteristics of the tattoo you wish to remove.
The picosecond technology of the PicoSure® laser enables very precise targeting of tattoo pigments, even of the most difficult-to-treat colors. The number of sessions is reduced compared with other lasers, and as the skin heals faster, the time between sessions can be shortened. Because of its speed of action, the laser is less painful, less aggressive on the skin, and causes no scarring or side effects.
The duration of a laser tattoo removal session varies according to the area to be treated, skin color and tattoo characteristics (size, colored ink, etc.). For the most sensitive, an anesthetic cream can be applied before the session. After laser treatment, the skin may show some redness for 24 hours. We recommend applying a repair cream for a few days. You should also avoid exposing the treated area to the sun, before, during and after treatment.
